According to France 24, four paintings from the Renaissance by the painter Antonello da Messina were stolen from the Regional Museum in Messina, Sicily, last night of August 15th. The thieves took three panels from “Politico di San Gregorio,” impacting the city of part of the only surviving works by the artist that still remain in his hometown. Italian authorities have launched an investigation.
